Book Review: A Child’s New Home
A Child’s New Home was written by Schweizer Press, out of Hartford by Ashley Schweizer.Ms. Schweizer write to inform people that the foster care system is not as good as it could be. The main issue I feel that she is trying to convey it that sometimes moving the children is worst for them and that those that are allowed to be foster parents should have more training and maybe more screening. Ms. Schweizer also calls for the community to help in bringing down the high number of children with out homes by volunteering to become foster parent.
Ms. Schweizer brings up may good points. But is it the governments responsibility to watch out for peoples children? And if it is shouldn’t the government screen people to see if they are capable to have children in the first place? Then to teach them how to raise children correctly to better society as a whole?
I agree with MS. Schweizer that our system of taking care of abused children is lacking, but will more willing foster parents and education, and governmental funding solve the problem?
