Book review: Why School Uniforms Are Beneficial

Why School Uniforms Are Beneficial was written by Suzette Harris. There was no publishing information. This is a work of nonfiction. Ms. Harris write her book to convey the message that school uniforms are something that should be used in order to make better people who are concerned with education and not on material thing s such as clothing and what click one in in. She also believes that it will take not only the school, but the parents and the community in order for this to work. She writes how uniforms also help families financially and unifies schools.
I agree with Ms. Harris that making uniforms an option in schools will take away some of the difficulties that children face in school today. I personally went to private school where I wore uniforms from 2nd grade to 12th grade. Even though we all wore uniforms on the days when we had “ dress down days” ( days where you could wear your own clothing) I remember being made fun because my clothing wasn’t the in clothing of the time. The system is not perfect but it definitely helps.
I really enjoyed Ms. Harris’ book and hope that others would consider the benefits of having uniforms in school.
