feedback from united but equal?

Sometimes there is something you read and it makes things very clear, and this is one of those situations. I had the privaledge to read what i think was a great interpretation of a lot of issues at hand. i read united but equal written by Gerrard Evans. the book reflects on education and how african americans need a change in the system. As we can see today that changes are needed in the school system for african americans to suceed. I've seen many people go through school and still not be prepared for the next step because of what i believe is a lacking school system. I believe that I was not prepared for the next step with all my years of schooling, but with hard work and doing things on my own i made it to that level. I find it interesting that there was a case that actually overturned segregation. I feel that these are things i should know being an african american. i also feel that Gerrard had a strong point on more funding for education as i also believe that is a forefront of not only this country but life in general.
